Spring Valley Lakes – Exciting New Developments

Waves Shape

Our club has been diving Glynneath Lakes for years. When we first started there were no facilities at all – just the lakes and some underwater attractions.

This year has seen huge changes as the site is being developed as a camping/glamping and water activity site. There are glamping pods with hot tubs, lots of space for camper vans and tents, a double decker bus that is a pub, toilets, showers and dedicated diver changing facilities. Scuba Wales who is our BSAC Partner Centre are also based there and can carry out a wide range of training. The site has also had a change of name, it is now called Spring Valley Lakes.

You can also paddle board or kayak on the lakes – there’s something for everyone. The lakes are on private land and as such membership is required and fees are payable to take part in any activities – this is no different to many other inland sites.

The site has is also being used for BSAC regional /national events. A successful Practical Instructor Exam event was held there last month, with another scheduled for September.
