The Instructor Foundation Course (IFC) is the first step in the instructor-training journey with BSAC.
It’s a great introduction to teaching diving theory and practical skills, allowing candidates to join BSAC’s extensive network of highly skilled diving instructors – the driving force behind the club’s worldwide reputation for training excellence and safety. The course is good fun and gives all who take part in it a chance to mix with divers from far and wide.
Four of our club members completed their IFC in October. All four enjoyed their weekend of theory and practical training and are now Assistant Instructors within our club.
They can now begin to teach diving with the help of the club’s qualified instructors.
As Sports Divers they can carry out try-dives and teach Ocean Diver and Sport Diver classroom, pool and open-water lessons under the supervision of one of our BSAC Open Water Instructors.
A huge congratulations to all four of them!
